The New Zealand market
New Zealand schooling is made up of state schools, state integrated schools, many with a religious or Montessori character, and private schools, alongside kura teaching in te reo Maori. The New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa sit underneath, with NCEA Levels 1 to 3 assessed through NZQA, and some schools offering Cambridge International qualifications or the International Baccalaureate instead. Providers enrolling international students must sign up to the pastoral care code. The market is small and concentrated in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

A small market makes visibility sharper, not softer.
